2012 WLPGA General Technical Committee – Innovation Award
The Winner of the very prestigious World LPG Association GTC Award for Innovation for 2012 is Ito Koki. Along with a number of other companies we were chosen to present our technical paper to the GTC in Doha in 2011. The paper entitled LPG Applied Technology for Seismic Hazard outlined the company’s products for sensing earthquakes and shutting down gas systems and also the key job of restoring lifelines after the recent quakes and tsunami.
The award was made by Mr James Rockall – CEO and Managing Director, WLPGA to Mr Niroh Utsumi – President, Ito Koki Limited and Neil Ormrod – Director, ITO Europe Limited.

The global LPG meeting point was held in Doha Qatar in 2011 (Scrabble buffs please note you don’t always follow a ‘Q’ with a ‘U’ !).
The event was especially important to ITO KOKI as we were given the honour of presenting a paper to the Global Technology Conference, the title of which was ‘LPG Applied technology for Seismic Hazard’. There was a great deal of interest shopwn in the Earthquake Sensing and Safety products and again the PA System which had proved such a lifeline to people during the great Earthquake and Tsunami of 11 March 2011.
  
  
The Bucharest AEGPL saw the official launch of ITO Europe. The exhibition attracted visitors from throughout Europe and the middle East. There was a noticeable lack of attendees from the UK but the absence of direct flights may have had some bearing on this.
Key products of interest were the changeovers with remote telemetry, the air heating vaporizer and attracting specific attention the PA System which converts propane into a synthetic natural gas.
  
  
The ITO Europe office was opened in April 2011 at Westcott outside of Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire. In the lee of  Waddesdon Manor in the heart of the English countryside. Visitors are welcome to meet and view the products on show and discuss installations and requirements.
It is important to telephone first to ensure a good reception and a warm kettle!
The new ITO Europe Website was launched on 15th February 2012. The aim is to give as much information about ITO KOKI, ITO Europe and our products as we can without becoming boring. To build and offer a knowledge data bank of Technical Information related to the LPG and Natural Gas market both with ITO KOKI products and also in the wider field. Finally to be a contact point between the ITO team and our friends, colleagues and customers.
